Camouflage Colour Nail Lacquer Review

matillysthisnthat.blogspot.com.au

My review of the following three Camouflage Colour Nail Lacquers, (l-r) Red Plum, Metal Green and Purple.

These nail lacquers are "as natural and pure as modern technology allows"  you can find out more about what is or more importantly isn't in these polishes here.

I think the bottles are cute but I don't like the lids, needs a longer handle for easier application.  The brushes are OK but they tend to streak so you need to use a light hand and just use the tips of the brush and then it applies fairly well.

2 coats

1.  Red Plum
2.  Metal Green
3.  Purple

I really like the colours and they are made with all natural food grade dyes.

You really have to shake the bottle well to mix all the ingredients, they tend to separate and become gluggy and thick.   Two thins coats are best if you don't want streaks and they DO take a while to dry, longer than I am used too.

I painted my nails with the Metal Green yesterday and I was really happy with the results.  I applied a base coat and then two coats of the polish.  It did take a long long time to dry and one nail ended up with dents and scratches.  Once it is dry though it is very strong, I went out and trimmed my pony's feet and NO CHIPS, if you want to test a nail polish that's the way to go lol...

No chips

My least favourite colour would have to be the Red Plum it is not a shade I would normally wear but I love to play with polish and I added a top coat of Glitter Gal and I really liked the results.  So below is each shade of Camouflage with a top coat of something else.

1.  Camouflage Red Plum with a coat of Glitter Gal - Belgian Chocolate.
2.  Camouflage Metal Green with a coat of Australis - Speck-takular.
3.  Camouflage Purple with a coat of Glitter Gal - Frappe.

I was a little impatient and smeared the green, it does take a long time to dry and you DO need a light hand.

I wasn't too impressed with Camouflage when I received my first lacquer Red Plum but once I got used to the formula and had a bit of a play around I am quite happy with them now and will probably invest in some more colours.

You can find more Camouflage Nail Lacquers here if you are interested in trying this brand for yourself.

I hope you liked my review and please leave a comment below I would love to hear from you.

Glitter Gal 3D Holographic Nail Polish - Citrine

I just wanted to do a quick review of my latest nail polish purchase.

Citrine

I have written about this brand of nail polish before and you can view that review here.

This is an aussie brand of nail polish that contains no nasties and comes in a gorgeous range of colours.  You can find out more about Glitter Gal on their website here.  They have some really beautiful duo-chromes, transitionals, opals etc..... and they are available internationally.

The photo above is of my nails with inside light.  I just wanted to give a contrast of how the polish appears different depending on the lighting.

The above photo show how you can also add a layer of Glitter Gal over another shade to brighten it up.

I love the formula of these nail polishes.  They apply smoothly, nice thin coats, quick drying time, no mess and a good brush makes application easy for someone as inept at painting her nails as I am.  I can't tell you the number of times I have applied nail polish and then stuffed it up and had to start ALL over!!  I just can't get it right sometimes.

Two coats is all you need for a gorgeous depth of 3D colour, this would have to be one of my favourite nail polishes right now.

I haven't had any chipping and I work with kids, cows, horses and dogs lol.........

Glitter Gal 3D Holographic Nail Polish - Light as a Feather

Promo photo

I wanted to share with you all this great nail polish from Glitter Gal I discovered recently, you can find out more about them here, they sell a fantastic range of nail polishes and cosmetics.

This is what Glitter Gal have to say about their nail polish. - "A true high intensity multi-chromatic 3D/Holographic effect which captures light and reflects a full spectrum of vivid colour.  Formulated with the highest blend of ingredients, including our fine and intense holographic formula, to create the most superior product available today on the international nail polish market."

I purchased a bottle of 'Light as a Feather' online and as soon as I opened the package I just had to try this.  I love this shade, it changes colour with the light and I just can't pin it down to one colour.  My husband says it is pearlescent as it changes between green, blue, grey, lavender and white, it really is like wearing a coat of mother of pearl on each of your nails.

I like that this polish is Australian owned and made and contains no nasties.  It was really easy to apply and drys quickly between coats (2).  What really impressed me was after four days of rigorous punishment by me it has not chipped once and looks as fresh as the day I applied.  Below is a photo of my stubby little nails taken just before I wrote this blog so you can see no chipping!!

I love love love this nail polish, it is a gorgeous muted shade that would suit any number of looks, Glitter Gal have a whole range of colours and if they are as good as this one I think I will be back for a whole lot more.  RRP $11.95 10ml or $17.95 15ml.

If you have tried Glitter Gal or know of some other great nail polishes please leave a comment below.
