Lust Have It April 2013 Box 2

I recently purchased an Annual VIP Subscription from Lust Have It for my Mum as a house warming WELCOME gift as she has recently move into a cottage on our property. April was the first month that she received her box and I asked her if I could review it for you all as it was comparatively different to the one I received, you can read that review here.  I must say I am very pleased that Mum received such a good selection for her first time, though I must admit I am a little envious with what she received compared to mine.

www.matillysthisnthat.blogspot.com.au

MOLTON BROWN ~ Patchouli & Saffron Body Wash ~ Sample

AVEDA INVATI ~ Exfoliating Shampoo & Thickening Conditioner ~ 10ml samples

RACHEL K ~ Mineral Colour Control CC Cream ~ sachet samples.  These were actually missing so I have emailed LHI and I hope that they will replace them.

GOSH COSMETICS ~ Mono Eye Shadow ~ full -size ~ Dark Green.  This was broken, so I have emailed LHI about that too.  I gave Mum the Aubergine I received as I had already received the same shade the previous month.

NUDE BY NATURE ~ Nude Papaw Ointment ~ full-size 75g jar.  I love this ointment, all natural, smells great, wonderful for dry skin.  Whacking great big jar of it, Mum is so lucky.

AWE COSMECEUTICALS ~ Nirvaata Calming Serum ~ sample.  Anti-inflammatory which nurtures the skin's barrier to alleviate skin sensitivity.

PINK TIGER ~ Duri Cosmetics Nail Tools; Pedi Paddle ~ full-size, RRP$20.  Mum was really excited to see this as she has dry feet and the paddle makes it easier for her to bend down and smooth her rough heels.

matillysthisnthat.blogspot.com.au

Mum's box was much better value than the one I received, I really don't think this is fair of LHI considering I paid the same amount for both boxes.  She received 7 items compared to my 5, her products samples were LUXE while my only LUXE item was the Molton Brown.  I received a $1 nail file and cotton swabs she received a really cool Pedi Paddle $20, my face product was cheap John Plunkett while she received samples of AWE, RACHEL K and AVEDA and a generous sized tub of NUDE BY NATURE.  Side by side the boxes really don't compare and even my Mum commented on the difference though I couldn't convince her to swap lol....

This is NOT a VIP exclusive box as I have spoken to another VIP member who received the same box I received here.  There were no VIP boxes this month.

I don't think I will compare the boxes again, it might get very depressing.  Mum when you read this, I am so pleased you loved your LHI Box and WELCOME to our family we are so happy you are living with us now!

Lust Have It April 2013

matillysthisnthat.blogspot.com.au

It appears I have received the "cheap & awful left-over box" this month.  After seeing all the teasers on LHI's FB page and the new exciting products that other Lusties have received, I can't say I am too impressed.  I thought with the price increase the boxes were suppose to get better?  They could at least make them of equal value!!  To see what my Mum received this month please go here.

This is what I received in this month's box.

MOLTON BROWN ~ Patchouli & Saffron Body Wash ~ 30ml sample, RRP$39, 300ml.  Doesn't smell like patchouli at all, not impressed just another body wash!  Value $3.90

GOSH COSMETICS ~ Mono eye shadow ~ Aubergine ~ RRP$16.  I received this exact same colour last month you can read my review here

GOLDWELL ~ Dualsenses Ultra Volume Shampoo ~ 100ml sample, RRP$20.95, 300ml.  Yes it's shampoo to go with the Goldwell Hair repair I received from LHI last month.  Value $6.98.

PINK TIGER ~ Duri Cosmetics Nail File and Lint-Free Gauze.  File RRP$1 & Gauze, RRP$13.  While others received a $15.60 Cuticle tool, I received a $1 nail file.  How is that fair?

JOHN PLUNKETT ~ Face Cleanser ~ 40ml sample, RRP$9.95, 100ml.  Value $3.98.  While others received Ocean Essence, Remedica, Aveda and Awe products, I got a cheap ole sample of John Plunkett that I can pick up at a chemist anywhere!

There were also two discount cards, one for a free nail polish if you FIRST spend $50 at Pink Tiger and 10% off your purchase at Molton Brown online.

All their promises of bigger better boxes appears to have come to nothing.  Do I think it is worth the $5 increase?  No!  I am still paying the $14.95 per month for the next 6 boxes at the moment, I don't think I will be renewing unless I see a vast improvement in items, equality of boxes and better customer service.  LHI's boxes now retail for $19.95 and they promised bigger, better valued boxes, apparently NOT for everyone.  They are STILL running late, my box didn't arrive until nearly the end of the month 26th.  I thought I read somewhere that they were working on improving their delivery time and what was a good start last month with the box arriving on the 19th has quickly lapsed into the "same old, same old".

Not happy LHI.

ASOS Haul Review

My first ever ASOS  order arrived recently and I just had to share it with you all.  ASOS offer free shipping to OZ, no minimum spend and you can find them here.

Anatomicals ~  Sud The Lot of You ~ Natural Mango and Papaya BodyWash ~ Java Lather ~ Coffee Body Cleanser ~ You Need a Blooming Shower ~ Rose & Jasmine

matillysthisnthat.blogspot.com.au

They have such fun names and they all smell very delicious, my favourite would have to be the Mango and Papaya, very fruity.   I bought the Java Lather for hubby to help wake him up in the morning, smells like real coffee!!

www.asos.com.au

Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer ~ Nova, Luna & Galaxy

NOVA ~ LUNA ~ GALAXY
matillysthisnthat.blogspot.com.au

Apocalips would have to be my favourite lip lacquers because they stay rich and full of colour on your lips for a long time.  Non-sticky, glossy, highly pigmented opaque colour. The only fault I can find it they tend to travel and I need to wear lip pencil so the lacquer doesn't spread into my skin.

POP Love Palette ~ Purple

matillysthisnthat.blogspot.com.au

Comes in a very cute magnetic flat case, just the right size to POP into your cosmetics bag, has everything you need for eyes and contouring.

matillysthisnthat.blogspot.com.au

Sparkle, Shimmer & Matte Shades for eyes and face.  I haven't tried this palette yet so can't tell you what it's like or the staying power, I must admit I bought it because it's full of my favourite colours.  If I like this palette I will do a more in-depth review with swatches.

Bourjois Limited Edition Vintage Blusher ~ Rose Amber & Rose Brune

www.asos.com.au

Gorgeous limited edition pots of colour.  Finely milled, highly pigmented, domed blush, I'm really glad I bought both these shades, they are beautiful.  Sheer application but buildable for more depth of colour.

Rose Amber & Rose Brune
matillysthisnthat.blogspot.com.au

Bourjois Bronzing Powder ~ Chocolate scented

www.asos.com.au

Highly pigmented matte bronzer,  cute packaging, magnetic lid which reveals four pieces of chocolate bronzer, smells like cocoa and vanilla, I keep opening it and sniffing.  Goes on sheer which is great for fair skin like mine but is buildable for darker contouring.

matillysthisnthat.blogspot.com.au

Korres Lip Butter ~ Jasmine

www.asos.com.au

Another moisturising and non-sticky glossy lip butter, Jasmine is very sheer and there was no hint of colour on my lips.

Korres Mandarin Lip Butter ~ Pink

matillysthisnthat.blogspot.com.au

Contains Mandarin oil, I was disappointed that there was no aroma of mandarins, one of my favourite oils. This is very sheer, even though it's pink there is no colour on the lips. Very moisturising, non-sticky formula, slight pleasant aroma.

SteamCream 3 in 1 Moisturiser ~ Blumen

SteamCream was originally the sister company of LUSH.  SteamCream hand make this luscious moisturiser using high quality natural ingredients and fuse it all together with a shot of steam.  Lovely light weight formula which is surprising moisturising, can be used on your face and body. They are packaged in a range of limited edition collectors tins and they all look gorgeous, you can find out more about them here.

matillysthisnthat.blogspot.com.au

I also bought myself a lovely woollen blend, fully lined, grey swing duffel coat with hood for the winter.

www.asos.com.au

I was very pleased with everything I purchased.  My parcel arrived within 4 days of ordering and everything was packed very carefully.  I was able to get hold of some goodies that aren't readily available in Australia and I was extremely happy with the coat because it was reduced down from $127.56 to $76.54.

I would love to hear what you think please leave a comment below.

Violet Box starts this June

You can read my thoughts on the first Violet Box here.

Hya all my beautiful readers.  I just wanted to let you know that whilst I was visiting the Violet Box website to see if they were any closer to opening, I was able to purchase a monthly subscription.  Now I thought we had to put our name down on a wait list (which I did right at the beginning) to receive an invitation email but I have been able to pay for a subscription on their website here.  I can only assume they are operational as they accepted my payment, I filled out a profile survey and they sent me an email welcoming me.  UPDATE: I have just had confirmation from the Violet Box team that their "website has just gone live".  Good Luck Violet Box!

Subscriptions available are;

Monthly Subscription ~ $22.95

3 Months Subscription ~ $66

6 Months Subscription ~ $130

Annual Subscription ~ $250

Postage is FREE

I have signed up for a monthly subscription which according to their site is processed on the 5th of each month with boxes being posted by the 15th of the month.  All other available subscriptions will be debited from your account with a one off payment immediately on subscribing.

On their FAQS page they state that the first payment will be taken on the 5th of June, so I guess they will be operational by June.  You can read more about that here.

Must say I am pretty excited by the idea of a new box which claims they will send out 4-6 premium samples per month with MORE full-sized items.  I am really looking forward to my first Violet Box in June.

Will you be signing up for this new beauty box?

UPDATE:   Sept 2013, I have cancelled my subscription as I have not been really happy with this beauty box for the $22.95 per month I expected more not less than the cheaper beauty boxes available.

SUIGO Ultimate Shampoo, Conditioner and Hair Treatment

In march's bellabox some lovely Bellas were fortunate to receive samples of Suigo Ultimate Shampoo , Conditioner and Hair Treatment.  I wasn't one of the lucky ones but when Joe from Suigo Australia contacted me and asked me if I would like to try these products I was very happy to say yes.

matillysthisnthat.blogspot.com.au

I wanted to base my opinion of these products on continual use.  Everyone's hair looks great, feels soft after shampoo and conditioning but how do these products hold up between washes and does it actually make your hair stronger, shinier and more manageable in the long run.

I have been using Suigo Ultimate for two weeks now, I have washed and conditioned every second day and used the treatment once last Sunday.

My hair is long, there is a lot of it but it is very fine and dry.  Since I have been taking Methotrexate a cancer drug to supress my immune system I have lost quite a bit of my hair and it has become brittle and breaks easily.  This is heartbreaking for me as I have lost about half the length of my hair (it was down to my waist) and every time I wash it I leave a good handful of hair in the drain.

This is what I have noticed since using Suigo Ultimate.

My hair definitely has more volume and weight (my hair feels thicker) and there is no frizz  or fly aways.  My curls sit very nicely and I have a lovely uniformed wave when I "shake my head darling".  Usually I have to apply copious amounts of styling products to get it looking like that and I have not used one in two weeks since starting Suigo Ultimate.

My hair is so soft and shiny and actually improves condition on the second day.  It's so nice to wake up in the morning and NOT have my hair look like I put my finger in an electric socket!!  AND I can get a brush through it without bringing tears to my eyes, NO TANGLES.

I love the fresh clean smell, NO overpowering added perfume here and more importantly NO NASTIES.

But...... The biggest bonus for me?  I lose hair because of the Methotrexate, there is nothing more heartbreaking than finding your hair tangled in your fingers, disappearing down the drain or noticing that your hair brush now has MORE hair than you do.

Since the first week of using Suigo Ultimate my hair has stopped breaking, Yep huh huh, "Everybody Dance Now", no hair tangled in my fingers and my brush is going bald.  It doesn't get better than that!!

One of the claims from Suigo website is that it will repair and strengthen your hair while helping to prevent breakages.  AND it certainly does!

SUIGO AUSTRALIA  are an eco-friendly company who use ingredients derived from nature, they have three ranges of hair care available, ULTIMATE, NUTRITIVE, DERMA and a whole array of Styling products.   You can find out more about SUIGO here

The only thing I would ask from Joe is;  Could you please make your products available to purchase online?  I would love to try your Nutritive range and some of your styling products.  If they are as good as the Ultimate range I would be one very happy lady.  Living out in the bush I don't have access to purchase many products and online shopping is my only outlet.

The Ultimate Shampoo and Condtioner are available from Bellabox and please click here for a list of Salons who stock SUIGO.

Have you tried any SUIGO products and what do you think?   Please let me know in the comments, I would love to hear from you.

I only ever write reviews for products that I love and want to share with my readers, I have not been paid for this review.

Bellabox April 2013

INNOVATIVE BEAUTY

matillysthisnthat.blogspot.com.au

Certainly was an interesting mix in this months BB.

CELLILUX GLACIAL MINERAL GEL ~ CULT ~ 7g sample, RRP$69 for 60g.  All the way from Canada is this facial mask that claims to contain negatively charged molecules to draw out positively charged bacteria and impurities from the skin. Interesting sample, I love to mask up once a week so look forward to trying this.  UPDATE:  I really liked this clay mask, draws out impurities and exfoliates, I loved how my skin looked after using this, no tight dry feeling, definitely a good product.

LASH CARD deluxe sample exclusive to BB.  RRP$7.95.  I think this helps you to not smudge your mascara around your eye area.  It's not a problem I have after many many years of perfecting the technique of applying mascara but I think they could come in handy if you were applying mascara on another person.

INDIO FACIAL SCRUB ~ LUXE ~ 10ml sample, RRP$56 for 50ml.  Sea salt scrub to remove dead skin cells.  Packed with anti-oxidants and minerals.  Sounds good! UPDATE:  This is good!!  You only need  a pea size amount to do your whole face, exfoliates and leaves your skin soft and smooth and there was no tight dry feeling, this is great stuff.

PROPLENISH MARINE COLLAGEN SACHETS ~ NATURAL ~ 3 samples, RRP$49.95 for 30.  At one a day a full pack is enough for a month.  Claims that by ingesting collagen it will help you achieve healthy skin, hair and nails.  You would have to take these for at least three months before you saw any improvement in your skin and nails, even longer with hair as it would only affect new growth.  Jury is out on these, I think I would need to find out a heap more information before I even thought about ingesting.  My main concern is which ocean, pollution and mercury levels?  UPDATE:  Marine Collagen is a substance derived from fish scales.

CEDEL DRY CONDITIONER ~ ESSENTIAL ~ 30g sample, RRP$7.99 for 100g.  This is mousse, there is nothing dry about it!  This is nothing more than a leave-in conditioner.   Smells delicious, reminds me of something I just can't put my finger on.  I really like it, light-weight formula which left my hair feeling super soft, shiny and my hair smells great!!

SALLY HANSEN MAGNETIC NAIL COLOUR ~ KINETIC COPPER ~ COLOUR ~ full-size, RRP$16.95.  Love Sally Hansen and as I have never tried a magnetic nail polish before, excited to use this.

matillysthisnthat.blogspot.com.au

I wanted to show you a swatch of the colour and pattern (it's suppose to be wavy), either this doesn't work on plastic nails or I am really bad at this.  I have just painted my nails so I will re-do this photo when I change polish later this week, my apologies for the bad example but.....the colour COPPER is just gorgeous don't ya think?

AVENE MICELLAR LOTION 3 in 1 ~ CULT ~ 25ml sample, RRP$32.95 for 200ml.  I use Wotnots pretty much exclusively now to clean my face so not too excited to see this.  I was also hoping we had seen the last of Avene for a while sigh.......  I still haven't used ALL the other samples yet.  Claims to wash, tone and remove make-up, well that's actually 2 in 1 as washing and removing makeup is the same thing right?

Ok that's it for this month.  I am quite happy with this box.  Lots of interesting new things to peak my curiosity and I certainly look forward to trying some of them.  I think this box was excellent value and certainly worth $15.  If you would like to subscribe to Bellabox which I personally feel is the better value of the two similiar beauty boxes available (LHI being the other) and also now the cheapest take a look at their website here.

What did you get this month and were you happy with your selection?
