Stain, Scrub and Salve: Top 5 Lip Products Tag

My lovely friend Renu from My Beauty Junction who never forgets me and I love her for it has tagged me, you can read her blog here.

Apparently this tag has been going around for a while and what you need to do is list and talk about your top 5 Holy Grail lip products.

I am all about moisture moisture moisture on my lips so most of my choices are going to reflect this.  I don't scrub my lips or have any favourite lip stains and  I also tend to stick to nudes or pinks for colour making my choices boring here if you like colour.  I prefer to doll up my eyes and keep to a natural looking lip.

Also sticking to 5 products is IMPOSSIBLE!!  This is going to be really hard.  So I am going to pick a lip moisturiser/salve, lipstick, lip balm, lip crayon and a lip gloss.

1.  Clarins ~ Extra-Firming Lip and Contour Balm ~ Contains Raspberry Seed Oil and Shea Butter. Repairs, replenishes, softens, plumps and defines lips while smoothing away vertical lines around the lip area. All I can say about this balm is that it works!!  My lips have improved greatly in the two months I have been using this.  I recommend everyone give it a go.  I keep this on my bedside table and use it first thing in the morning and last thing at night.  I am very impressed with the results.

2.  Couleur Caramel ~ Beti Pink Pearly Lipstick ~ Organic, plant derived, contains castor, jojoba, apricot, grape and olive oils, red tea, shea butter and olive wax.  Long lasting, super moisturising, protects and conditions your lips and the shade is gorgeous.  I am not normally a fan of lipstick as I find them too drying but I love this one, doesn't dry my lips out at all.  This is a pinky/peach colour with flecks of gold.

3.  NYX ~ Color Lip Balm ~ Tack ~ I love this lip balm from NYX, dusky berry pink, great opaque colour, moisturising and smells just like raspberry jam.

4.  Face of Australia ~ Sheer Gloss Lip Crayon ~ Sundae ~ opaque brown/berry glossy lip which doesn't feather, very moisturising and lasts.  I have a few of these in the three available colours tossed through all my handbags (you can read my review here), when my lips feel dry but I want some colour this is the crayon I reach for.

5.  MUA  ~  Intense Kisses  ~  Sealed with a Kiss  ~  this would have to be my all time favourite lip gloss, I have about four of these floating around in various hand bags so I always have it with me.  Non-sticky moisturising formula, opaque glossy colour and this would have to be my favourite shade of pink.

Ok this is by no means ALL my favourite lip products but they would have to be my faithful HG stand-bys which I reach for the most.

I tag anyone who reads this and please don't forget to leave a comment and a link to your blog so I can come visit you!

Hi Jac, thanks so much for doing the tag and the mention! I love the look of the Clarins balm and the Couleur Caramel lippy. I must confess to making up the title Stain, scrub and salve because I was sick of "tag" in my headlines and my tenure as a copy editor caught up with me!

  8. Omg you have so many things I've been wanting to try. One of which is the NYX lip balm. I remember almost buying one at Ulta but had to stop myself. Is it really that great? As a lip balm junkie, you make me want to try all of these.

Btw thanks for stopping by my site and subscribing. Now following you back. :D

  9. Oh that Clarins Lip Balm looks fanastic! I must try it out. Great review and I agree that it's nearly impossible to pick 5 faves when talking about makeup.

  14. Hya Lynn, love your blog!!

I really like the Nyx balm, I am really fussy when it comes to lip products and when I find one this good I jump on it. I have heard that some are not as moisturising as others but NYX TACK has been excellent and worth a try.

  18. i was going to say the same thing about the clarins lip balm. is it an expensive brand? :)

    ReplyDelete
  19. It is expensive but worth it because I know I will use the whole jar 15ml for $44. The best time to buy is when they have a GWP so you get a heap of free stuff, a got mine from David Jones with a big bucket full of free Clarins products. I love this balm so much though I would repurchase anyway as it has made a huge difference to my lips.

  21. They look very nice! I haven't tried them.
The truth is lip products are the ones I neglect. I usually fall in love with eye products.

  22. I love eye products the best too though I am learning a good lip makes it all come together nicely

  23. MUA lip crayons are delicious! My favourite out of your list is the couleur caramel lipstick, colour perfect!
