Lust Have It April 2013

matillysthisnthat.blogspot.com.au

It appears I have received the "cheap & awful left-over box" this month.  After seeing all the teasers on LHI's FB page and the new exciting products that other Lusties have received, I can't say I am too impressed.  I thought with the price increase the boxes were suppose to get better?  They could at least make them of equal value!!  To see what my Mum received this month please go here.

This is what I received in this month's box.

MOLTON BROWN ~ Patchouli & Saffron Body Wash ~ 30ml sample, RRP$39, 300ml.  Doesn't smell like patchouli at all, not impressed just another body wash!  Value $3.90

GOSH COSMETICS ~ Mono eye shadow ~ Aubergine ~ RRP$16.  I received this exact same colour last month you can read my review here

GOLDWELL ~ Dualsenses Ultra Volume Shampoo ~ 100ml sample, RRP$20.95, 300ml.  Yes it's shampoo to go with the Goldwell Hair repair I received from LHI last month.  Value $6.98.

PINK TIGER ~ Duri Cosmetics Nail File and Lint-Free Gauze.  File RRP$1 & Gauze, RRP$13.  While others received a $15.60 Cuticle tool, I received a $1 nail file.  How is that fair?

JOHN PLUNKETT ~ Face Cleanser ~ 40ml sample, RRP$9.95, 100ml.  Value $3.98.  While others received Ocean Essence, Remedica, Aveda and Awe products, I got a cheap ole sample of John Plunkett that I can pick up at a chemist anywhere!

There were also two discount cards, one for a free nail polish if you FIRST spend $50 at Pink Tiger and 10% off your purchase at Molton Brown online.

All their promises of bigger better boxes appears to have come to nothing.  Do I think it is worth the $5 increase?  No!  I am still paying the $14.95 per month for the next 6 boxes at the moment, I don't think I will be renewing unless I see a vast improvement in items, equality of boxes and better customer service.  LHI's boxes now retail for $19.95 and they promised bigger, better valued boxes, apparently NOT for everyone.  They are STILL running late, my box didn't arrive until nearly the end of the month 26th.  I thought I read somewhere that they were working on improving their delivery time and what was a good start last month with the box arriving on the 19th has quickly lapsed into the "same old, same old".

Not happy LHI.

    1. I have seen a couple of other boxes and they look pretty good, so don't worry yet lol.... I am just disappointed with the lack of value when they promised us so much more when they put the price up.

  2. Molton Brown is a really expensive brand. I got a perfume sample in my box once and it was unisex. But after a smell it pulled more towards masculine and not something i would wear. I like subtle, sophisticate or fun floral/fruity scents. This was strong and something that smells like one of my step dads aftershaves for £65 i won't be making a purchase. Have never tried anything else from the company.

It's a little disappointing about the nail file compared to what else was available. They should make sure their equivalent in price.

    1. The Molten Brown body wash does smell masculine, more like 4711 cologne.

Yes I agree they should make their items equivalent in value, it is very unfair to give one a nail file and another a nail tool with such a price difference.

  3. It's such a shame that you got the same product as last month! I got grouchy getting the same product from last years box, but if I were to get the sample product in the last month, I wouldn't be happy. Hopefully next months box is better for you!

  4. That is so awful! Don't they keep a file of what they sent you the previous months? I thought that was how these things worked! I wouldn't want to get gauze or cotton, no matter how special, in a subscription box.

    1. Apparently the gauze works well with nail polish removal but I have yet to try it. I really can't believe it's worth $13

I am not sure what records LHI keep for repeat items but I was pretty unlucky to receive the same shade :o(

  5. Wow, such a shame you received some of the products in previous boxes and a $1 nail file... I wouldn't be impressed with these products either if the same case happened to me :(

    1. No it's pretty poor form of them to throw in a $1 nail file and cheap face wash when other LHI members receive interesting Luxe samples, they must have run out of samples when they got to me and tossed any old thing laying around, not impressed.

  6. It seems like LHI might be attempting to compensate the value of this box by adding the molton brown product. I think they email "shipped" notifications ahead of time. I didn't receive my box till 26th, usually it takes overnight in sydney. And sending out the same shade is just poor track record!! I'm sorry you received a disappointing box love :(

    1. I would rather have had the cuticle tool. I don't know what is going on with their shipping, I think when the truck it all to AusPost they don't post it all in one day.

  7. Hi Jac,

Thats a shame you got the same sample as last time; Maybe send them an email to let them know, maybe they'll send you another sample!

I have received beauty boxes from different companies in the past, and sometimes they forgot to send me a box!

    1. I agree the distribution of products between all the boxes isn't fair, we all pay the same amount but the value of the different boxes can be vastly different.

  10. Exact same *crappy* box that I got! My shadow is black but I am super disappointed! It's actually my first annual sub box!! ripped off compared to the others... and I hate "testing" a shampoo without a complimenting conditioner! I feel completely cheated, they're lucky it's the first in my annual sub cause I think I would have unsubbed!

    1. I know what you mean about only receiving the shampoo, I notice some other boxes contained the conditioner, they should have come as a pair.

Their promises of bigger better boxes didn't last long did it?
