Lust Have It September

Spring Fling (erm spring clean more like)

matillysthisnthat.blogspot.com.au

Can't say that I have been too impressed on what has been on offer from any of the beauty boxes this month and LHI are no exception.  In fact I am rarely impressed by LHI these days, if you haven't seen my review for their latest Fashion and Beauty Box please take a look here.  As well as getting rid of all their old boxes I think LHI were having a spring clean of their warehouse and getting rid of old stock. Now on to their latest dismal offering.

1.  Wotnot Natural Organic Facial Wipes - sample - I love these wipes and use them almost exclusively but do I have to KEEP receiving them as samples?  I'm sold already, no more please.

2.  Mary Kay Oil-Free Eye Makeup remover - sample - I don't use eye makeup remover as the Wotnots do a great job of removing mascara without irritating my eyes.

3.  L'Oreal Base Magique Primer - teeny tiny sample - received this last month from BB, used it once didn't think much of it to be honest.

I tried the BB cream on my face, looks like I had a fight with a tanning machine and it won!!  Oompa Loompa and Tang (orange juice) comes to mind.  Left my face patchy and orange.  Comes out of the sachet white and then oxidises on your face.

4.  L'Oreal Nude Magique BB Cream -  medium - 1ml sachet - note to L'Oreal if you would like me to try your product in the hopes that I might purchase please at least supply LHI with the right shade!!  LHI please start profiling your customers, very pale skin does NOT mean medium.

5.  Bioderma Sebium Foaming Gel & SEbium AKN -  why are you giving me samples of products for oily skin, I have very dry skin?  These samples have been done to death!

6.  RPR Hair Care Range - Leave in Hair Treatment - Where is my Baji?   You know the expensive samples?

7.  LHI Synthetic Precision Pencil Brush - eye shadow brush

9.  Bonus Tampons - straight into the First Aid Kit with you, I have never worn tampons and no longer need them but they make great sterile swabs for nosebleeds, deep gashes and puncture wounds.

So that's it.  None of this is tailored towards me and my interests,  I have cancelled my subscription.  My Mum hated her boxes so much she gave me back the annual subscription I had gifted her so unfortunately I still have 6 more to go before I can say goodbye to LHI forever.

Also I have been a VIP member for 6 months and not once have I ever received anything VIP, why is that LHI?

  1. Your comment about Tang and Oompa Loompas made me laugh (and nostalgic) - how do you get such close-up shots, btw? Amazing! Agree with the wipes thing. It's like, if you can't think of what else too fill your box with, stuff in a wipe/lipgloss/black eyeliner pencil. Makes me hopping mad!

  2. Gawd my Mum used to force feed that Tang stuff down our throat, it was like drinking dried orange peel which I believe it was made from. Hated the stuff. lol....

I take photos with my little camera Nikon CoolPix and download Photoscape to your computer it's free, you can zoom in and cut to great effect.

  3. I wouldn't have been thrilled with that box either, and for people considering the Tom's tampons...don't. When removed, you can see the cotton pulling and it is a little unsettling!

  4. Oooh that's not good with the tampons Bridget. Nah I'm not thrilled at all with this box, can you tell lol............I just threw most of it in the bin such a waste.

  5. I received a slightly different box to your this month, not that it was any better! In fact, 2 samples were left out of mine which they are going to send out. My box left me feeling a bit flat and disappointed this month. My daughter felt the same way. I have been a VIP member for 7 months and haven't received anything VIP either. I'm hoping the October box will make up for this one... Fingers crossed!

  6. My box was a bit different than yours, and I'm pretty happy to try all of what I received... my cupboard is quickly filling with more samples than I can physically try! I'll be culling my 2 subs back to one when they run out...

  7. I have the same problem too many samples, I have passed on as many as I can and the rest I just throw out now because I am never going to use them. I am probably just going to stick to BB and the LHI Eco box.

  8. What!! Exactly! Where did your expensive Baji product go?! Aww, Jac....this is such a disappointing box :( I hope LHI will bring out a profiling system to match us with our products... the Bioderma creams don't work on me at all, my skin soaks all that stuff up

  9. It's a shame about the Baji (I got the same box as you did), but I've already used a couple of the products, like the primer, and it's not bad!

  10. Interesting discussion... I was not too happy with this month's box either, and it really does annoy me how we all get different boxes, some look so much better! That's so disappointing that your a VIP member and you don't receive anything special, so glad I'm not one as I'd be left feeling even more deflated!

Just ignore my previous comment on the violet box post, I can see now that you prefer the LHI eco box. I just wish there was more competition for subscription boxes as well, and I think it's especially disappointing because the price has gone up to $19.95, I just don't think it's worth it..

    Anyway :)

  11. Hya Mel, if you want to try a box that is cheaper and offers equivalent samples try Bellabox at $15 per month, I find them consistently better than LHI

  12. I hope you like the ECO box, I didn't like their first one but they have been pretty good since then. I am more inclined to use natural products anyway. I'm beginning to think it's a good idea to save my money and just buy want I want. Jac xx

  13. I'm getting more into natural and organic products myself so I'm hoping I'll get a great ECO Box. If not, well, there won't be any more for me! lol

  14. I'm a VIP member too and so far haven't received anything special either! My membership expires in December, so unless they really up their game, I can't see myself renewing the subscription...

  15. I don't know why they even bother with the VIP label it obviously means nothing and you certainly aren't rewarded for being a long time member xx
